I am an undergraduate student in my senior year of the Music Technology major at Brooklyn College. I have been exploring and expanding my knowledge in digital music. I have an extreme appreciation for live music and hardware.

CAPSTONE SUMMARY:

In my project, I am currently doing a lot of prep work and planning. I am reaching out to potential interviewees and working with them for scheduling. My goal is to have interviews set up and scheduled biweekly for the rest of the semester. I’ve been preparing the structure for my show and developing interview questions to guide and facilitate the discussions. For technical work, I am working with the radio station to become familiar with the equipment and figuring out logistics such as the audio/video recording of the show. They have most of the equipment I need such as microphones, mixers, and a DJ deck. I will bring supplementary hardware such as my camera and drum machines to potentially demo playing around with creativity and live beat making. At this stage, a lot of this project will be planning, testing, and organization. I am going for a more freeform approach when it comes to the interviews because I want to allow the interviews to really highlight the interviewee and mold the segment to what they want to talk about regarding their music and their process.
